In the run up I thought I\’d share some background about what Digital Works is, and why we thought it\’d be a good idea to organise a conference.

Seven years ago, almost to the day, we held our first Digital Works event in a rehearsal room at the Hackney Empire in London.

Some history

Digital Works was started as a response to my experience working in-house in a variety of digital manager roles.

I was often the only person with any digital experience in the organisations I worked at, and I was expected to have knowledge of (and an opinion on) a head-spinning array of different things.

It was quite a lonely existence at times, and imposter syndrome was pretty constant.
